About Oliver
Hi, I'm Oliver. I like the moment when a science topic stops being a page of terms and starts making sense as a whole. I tutor Ontario Science in Grades 7-10 and Biology and Chemistry in Grades 11-12, including Biology (SBI3U) and Chemistry (SCH4U). I'm happy to draw a slightly wonky diagram, use an everyday comparison or ask you to explain an idea back to me. Those little conversations often reveal more than another page of notes. My aim is to make it easier to ask questions and then use what you've learned in class. I enjoy cooking and getting outdoors, so food chemistry and the natural world tend to find their way into our examples.
Tutoring experience
I started by helping other students with science and have spent the past two years providing regular tutoring. I've supported homework, unit-test revision and the move from general Science into separate Biology and Chemistry courses. Recent sessions have focused on balancing equations, interpreting graphs, describing cell processes and planning clear lab-report discussions. I also help students break a busy revision week into manageable tasks. We review what they can now do independently, then give extra time to the ideas that still need practice.
